The chairperson of the Ozombahe Farmers Cooperative at Omitara in the Okorukambe Constituency, Willem Haoseb, is pleased with the progress made in terms of poverty alleviation and job creation for local people. 

Haoseb stated that the cooperative focuses on livestock and crop production as key projects for the community's sustainability.

He explained that in the past, they experienced a lack of water due to dysfunctional boreholes but have since drilled nine, which are now operational.

The process has improved crop production.

The garden project employs more than 40 people from the Omitara settlement.

Following favourable rains, the cooperative plans to provide milk to senior citizens in Omitara.
