The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) announced this morning that former NAMCOR Managing Director Immanuel Mulunga will appear in court within 48 hours of his arrest.

The ACC stated that Mulunga, along with those arrested alongside him, may be brought before a magistrate either today or tomorrow.

Mulunga was taken into custody on Tuesday morning, together with three other individuals.

The arrests are linked to an ongoing investigation into suspected irregularities involving NAMCOR’s stake in an oil exploration block located offshore Angola.

According to ACC Director General Paulus Noa, more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.

Mulunga is alleged to have unilaterally authorised a payment of over N$100 million to an Angolan oil company, Sinav Limited, in 2022 without approval from the NAMCOR board or the Ministry of Finance.

The ACC is investigating potential violations of the Anti-Corruption Act, including abuse of office, misrepresentation, and authorising unlawful payment without following required procedures.
