Plans are underway to revive the Uvhungu-Vhungu dairy farm in the Kavango East Region.

Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Land Reform, Inge Zaamwani, are in the region to prioritise food security.

Ngurare says the Uvhungu-Vhungu diary farm must become operational as soon as possible.

"Whatever needs to be done must be done to ensure that it will be operational this year still. We want a proper road map," Ngurare said.

Ngurare says he wants to see women and young people being employed at the dairy farm.

"Cattle must be restocked. There is no excuse. Let us establish a clear timeline for ourselves. Investors must be found, and the dairy farm should be up and running," the prime minister said.

The Uvhungu-Vhungu dairy farm has been a white elephant for the past 16 years amidst reconstruction efforts.
