The 21st edition of the Namibia Annual Sport Awards has introduced a powerful new tradition: the Wall of Fame, which is now officially part of the awards line-up.
Speaking at the official launch in Windhoek, Givean Samulandela confirmed that the Wall of Fame, which previously existed as a special recognition, is now an official awards category.
Samulandela emphasized that the Wall of Fame is about honoring sports figures whose impact transcends the playing field and whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
On the adjudication side, Chairperson of the panel, Lesley Tjiueza, reiterated that each nomination must be backed by official motivation from the respective federation.
Tjiueza further explained that federations must take the process seriously. Any appeals following disqualifications must be submitted in writing within seven days of notification.
In addition to the Wall of Fame, the 2025 edition will feature categories like Sports Star of the Year, Coach of the Year, Junior Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, Team of the Year, and the Lifetime Achievement Award - ensuring excellence is celebrated across all levels.
With nominations officially opening on 25 July 2025 and closing on 30 September 2025, federations are encouraged to submit early and ensure full compliance with the updated rulebook.
