The 2025 Mining Expo and AMS Conference kicked off in Windhoek, where MTC Namibia officially launched its Digital Mining Portfolio, positioning the company as a key enabler of data-driven mining operations across the country.
Speaking at the conference, Elton Katangolo, the General Manager of Sales, Enterprise and Customer Relations at MTC, emphasised the company’s strategic evolution from a traditional telecommunications provider into a fully-fledged digital infrastructure partner. The new portfolio focuses on private LTE networks, machine-to-machine connectivity, and real-time data solutions tailored specifically for the mining sector.
“Mining plays a central role in Namibia’s economy as a major employer and net exporter. At MTC, we understand that to truly power this sector, we must go beyond mobile connectivity and provide robust, intelligent digital infrastructure."
The Digital Mining Portfolio includes end-to-end communication systems that allow staff to stay connected on-site, equipment tracking, remote monitoring, and real-time analytics, enabling mines to plan ahead, optimise operations, and report precise performance data to both management and investors.
