A farmer based in the Kavango West Region is expanding his gardening project to boost food production and create jobs in the community.

Among the projects supported by the Kavango West Regional Council is Nanzamba Mixed Farming at Singuruve village in the Ncuncuni Constituency. 

The project belongs to Thomas Hausiku and currently produces vegetables.

He is also clearing six hectares of land to grow different types of vegetables, while the current field will be used for maize. 

In addition, he plans to add small livestock.

Despite expecting good harvests, the project is struggling with both water shortages and financial constraints.

Nanzamba's project employs eleven people on a casual and voluntary basis.
