City of Windhoek Mayor Ndeshihafela Larandja stated that the festival has become a vital platform for local talent, positioning Windhoek as a cultural hub in the region.
"Over the years, the Windoek Jazz Festival has evolved into more than just a concert. It has become a dynamic platform for showcasing the creativity, diversity, and unity brought to life through the timeless language of jazz. Jazz embodies freedom, innovation and collaboration, values that align perfectly with our vision for Windhoek as a progressive and inclusive city. As the City of Windhoek, we remain steadfast in our commitment to positioning our capital as a centre of opportunity and a vibrant cultural destination."
Acting CEO Obrien Hekandjo emphasised that the festival will not only be for jazz lovers but for every Namibian.
"Your support inspires us to keep raising the bar and ensuring that the Windu Jazz Festival remains a highlight on the national and regional calendar of events and an experience that attracts not just jazz enthusiasts, but lovers of good music and great company from near and far. As we look ahead to this year's edition, let us embrace the spirit of jazz – bold, expressive, and full of life – and may this festival once again remind us that music is not just entertainment but a language that unites us all."
This will be the 12th edition of the Windhoek Jazz Festival.
