The Outjo Municipality Expo is back after it was halted in 2015 due to financial constraints.
Over the weekend, the community hall was abuzz with activities as eleven SMEs, nine corporate entities, and four agricultural stalls were taking part.
"While this year's expo may not be as large as the first one, it is still significant. It brings a more diverse range of exhibitors and places a stronger focus on youth and innovation. Given the limited time for preparations, this expo serves as a learning experience for us. It is helping us identify areas for improvement as we work towards making it a well-organised, annual event in the future," said Mayor Sieglinde Amamus.
About 2,000 visitors are expected to pass through the gate during the weeklong activities.
"The expo will conclude over the weekend with a music bash, where different artists will perform to celebrate and close off the event on a high note."
Held under the theme 'Driving local economic growth through innovation and partnership', the expo emphasises collaboration between public and private sectors to empower SMEs and boost the local economy.
It will officially open on Thursday.
