First official results, announced by the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) Chairperson, Dr. Elsie Nghikembua, showed that Independent Candidate Paulus Mbangu retained his seat as Rundu Rural Constituency Councillor for a second term.
Dr. Nghikembua also announced that Swapo Party candidate Kapere Abiud won in the Arandis constituency in the Erongo Region, while in the Daweb Constituency in the Hardap Region, the Swapo candidate, Hercules Jantze, won.
In the Judea Lyaboloma Constituency in the Zambezi Region, Swapo candidate Vincent Sinalumba also emerged the winner. In the Kabbe North Constituency, Bernard Kamwi of the Swapo Party was declared the winner.
In the Katima Mulilo Rural Constituency, it was yet another Swapo victory with Dennis Sicembe Mukena, while Mabate Sipapela of Swapo got the most votes in the Linyanti Constituency of the Zambezi Region.
In the Ndiyona Constituency of the Kwango East Region, Laurentis Mukoya of Swapo was declared the winner.
In Omusati's Okaku Constituency, Swapo's Ester Filemon pulled the most votes and was declared duly elected, while in the Okatana Constituency, Shiweda Ashipala of Swapo was declared the winner.
In the Ompundja Constituency in the Oshana Region, Adolf Uunona of Swapo was declared the duly elected regional councillor.
