The Victory Youth Group engaged students and learners over the weekend.
The event, attended by the Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, is aimed at encouraging, motivating and inspiring them to aim high and overcome any challenges.
Drawing from her own life experiences and challenges, Dr. Steenkamp encouraged learners and students to never give up and to always learn from those who invest in them in every sphere of life.
"And I said, 'I am prepared to teach, but I'm unqualified. I'm pregnant,' and he said, 'That's fine. Come and teach.' Why am I telling you this story? I'm telling you the story to say, no matter what happens to us, we must never, ever think that we are answerable to other people in terms of our own growth. We must always be grateful that others believe in us and give us a chance. And this is what the Victory Youth Group is doing. They believe in you. This is what our teachers are doing. They believe in you."
Young people from various educational institutions were treated to a range of activities aimed at encouraging them and equipping them with skills to navigate life challenges such as bullying and peer pressure.
