Omusati residents gathered at the Ehao Cultural Expo Centre in Okahao to reflect on the journey of the liberation struggle and the country's developmental future.
Omusati Governor Immanuel Shikongo underscored that the peace Namibians enjoy today is a result of sacrifice.
"Patriotism, courage, and ultimate sacrifice are the foundation upon which our democracy stands. Since its independence, Namibia has made great strides in building a peaceful and respectful society. Our government has worked tirelessly to ensure development reaches every corner of this nation, including Omusati, which continues to benefit from the visionary leadership of our President, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah."
Minister of Finance Ericah Shafudah, as the keynote speaker, reminded those gathered of the long-standing mission of the government.
"Since 1990, the government has dedicated itself to eradicating poverty, inequality, and hunger. As our Founding Father, Tatekulu Sam Nujoma, always said, 'Let us fight hunger and disease.' We will continue to invest in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and food production."
It was also a time for personal reflection from those who started the journey.
