The Omake Charity Organisation hosted a community outreach event for underprivileged children in Otjiwarongo, where children took part in games and dancing activities.

More than 60 children attended the initiative, which also included meals prepared by David United Class Academy.

Omake volunteer Rodger Chisanda said that with schools closed, keeping children entertained and engaged can be a daunting task, making such initiatives important for structured recreational activities.

He noted that Otjiwarongo does not have a dedicated community park, highlighting the need for safe spaces where children can gather and participate in recreational activities.

A learner at David United Class Academy, Blessing Zaako, said the outreach provided a positive experience for the children and appreciated the activities and meals.

Volunteers engaged with the children throughout the afternoon, facilitating activities and assisting with food distribution.

The organisation encouraged continued support from the public and private sectors to sustain similar initiatives in the future.
