Three people died in a car accident on Friday along the Omitara-Otjinene road.

They have been identified as Tjeripo Tjeripo, Vandjeka Kutuouvi; and Vezemboua Hiuii.

The deceased were travelling in a minibus that had 15 occupants and was en route from Windhoek to Otjinene.

A police report indicates that a rear tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. It is reported that the bus rolled three times before coming to rest on its side. 

The driver and two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining occupants were taken to the Otjinene clinic for medical attention.
