Namibia has been removed from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey listing.

The move comes after the country successfully completed an action plan from the FATF to reverse the grey listing.

The grey listing, which came into effect on 23 February 2024, was due to 13 strategic deficiencies identified in Namibia's national anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism and proliferation framework.

The Finance Ministry in a statement said Namibia accorded the highest political commitment to addressing these strategic deficiencies.

The Ministry announced that a formal press briefing will be conducted on Tuesday to share more information regarding the removal.
