The Namibia Training Authority (NTA) has handed over pre-vocational education support funding for 2026/2027, totalling N$1 million, to seven schools. The initiative aims to enhance technical skills and provide career guidance.
The Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Dino Ballotti, described the NTA pre-vocational subject support initiative as a direct intervention aimed at tackling the challenge at its root. He encouraged learners to embrace the opportunities with determination and pride, emphasising that they should never underestimate their abilities when they commit to their work.
Balotti said the funds will be reflected in the schools' accounts today.
Chief Executive Officer of the NTA, Eric Nenghwanya, emphasised that the investment aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning. An allocation of N$150,000 is designated for each school to establish a seamless pipeline from education to formal training and increase exposure to technical and vocational education pathways.
The beneficiary schools expressed gratitude, saying the funds represent a significant vote of confidence in the future of technical and vocational education in Namibia.
Awards were given to Garibams Secondary School, Haudano Secondary School, Namavambi Combined School, Nossob Combined School, Nsundano Secondary School, Oluwaya Combined School and Putuavanga Junior Secondary School.
