Namibia has paid tribute to late former Zambian Acting President Guy Scott, with minister of International Relations and Trade Selma Ashipala-Musavyi signing the book of condolence at the Zambian High Commission in Windhoek today.

Ashipala-Musavyi was received by delegates from the Zambian High Commission before proceeding to sign the book of condolence in honour of Scott, who died on 15 July. 

She later observed a moment of reflection. 

The signing of the condolence book was done on behalf of the government and people of Namibia to convey sympathies to the government and people of Zambia and to Scott's family.

Scott served as Zambia's 12th vice president from 2011 to 2014 and became acting president following the death of President Michael Sata in October 2014. 

His relationship with Namibia was rooted in Zambia's support for the country's liberation struggle and strengthened through longstanding diplomatic ties between the two nations.
