The family of the late President Hage Geingob has paid glowing tribute to the name recognition of the former President from the Pan-African perspective.

Former First Lady Monica Geingos and daughter Dangos Geingos say the family have continued to receive overwhelming support across the globe.

In an interview on the sidelines of the inaugural memorial lecture held at the UNAM Hage Geingob campus on Monday, which drew hundreds, Geingos outlined the ongoing programmes in honour of her late husband's legacy.

"Our main programme is really fundraising because we want to put up construction for the presidential centre, but we have a programme called 'Dr Hage G. Geingob Fellows'. It's a Pan-African leadership programme that is run by Leadership Lab. It was launched in Kigali in January 2026. There was a second meeting in Accra, Ghana, about last week, so at least the name recognition from a Pan-African perspective is running, so that is the one big programme. Out

Geingos also highlighted the kind of arms that the presidential centre is spearheading.

"We also appreciate hands and minds. There is a lot of thinking that needs to be done. This will take a lot of volunteers."

For the children, all these initiatives are comforting.

"It has come through in the biggest and smallest of ways. When we thought everybody had moved on or kind of forgotten and we all move on with life, there are people who will express it in the smallest of ways," expressed daughter Dângos Geingos.
