President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says Namibia’s green transition must respond to immediate youth employment needs while supporting industrial development.

She said green growth can create opportunities for young people, but the shift to clean energy must be carefully managed to reflect Namibia’s development gaps and current energy requirements.

Nandi-Ndaitwah participated in UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited Global Leadership Council spotlight conversation in New York, focused on youth skills, green investment and livelihood opportunities on the margins of the 81st UN General Assembly.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah, alongside EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Capgemini Chief Executive Officer Aiman Ezzat and Eco Charge Limited founder Mary Njeri, examined climate action and youth economic participation during the panel discussion.
