Namibia has not yet fully ratified the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination in Education.

Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) Member of Parliament, Inna Hengari, has proposed the establishment of a vetting committee to scrutinise individuals nominated for the positions of Director-General and Deputy Director-General of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

A high-level delegation comprising the governors of the Oshana, Oshikoto, and Omusati regions boarded a helicopter on Thursday to assess the extent of the veldfires ravaging the three regions. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said the Omaheke Region is a strategic hub for cattle farming and serves as a major economic driver for both the local economy and Namibia's trading relations within markets abroad.

The Minister of Environment, Forestry and Tourism says an assessment is underway to determine the full extent of the damage caused by the wildfires in Etosha National Park.
