A total of 2,228 offenders will benefit from the presidential pardon and reprieve announced by the Namibian Correctional Service (NCS).

The Head of the Windhoek Correctional Facility, Oscar Kasuka, has warned against smuggling contraband within the facility, saying it poses threats such as stalking, bullying, and the risk of escape.

The first exchange of sentenced inmates between Namibia and Zambia took place at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region.
