Japan's ambassador to Namibia, Shinichi Asazuma, says he is pleased with the progress of the water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions and healthcare capacity projects at Khorixas.

Japan has demonstrated its commitment to supporting education and security in Namibia with a recent donation made to the University of Namibia.

The Government of Japan donated equipment, valued at approximately N$1 million, to the University of Namibia.

The Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform Minister Inge Zaamwani has launched a N$46-million food security and climate resilience grant in Otjiwarongo.

The Government of Japan, in partnership with Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Namibia and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Land Reform (MAFWLR), donated N$48 million towards the agriculture sector. 

The government of Japan, through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, handed over four classrooms at Martin Ndumba Secondary School in the Kavango East Region. 

The classrooms are valued at over N$940,000.

The Namibian delegation, led by Prime Minister Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare, met with Ishiba Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, today.

During the meeting, the two sides held discussions on matters of mutual concern and reaffirmed the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between Namibia and Japan. 

The government of Japan funded the construction of classrooms and a storeroom at the Christoph Ngatjizeko Primary School in the Otjinene Region at a cost of close to N$1 million.

The Khorixas District Hospital is in a state of disrepair, facing significant challenges due to inadequate health resources. 

These issues were brought to light during a recent visit by Japan's Ambassador to Namibia, Hisao Nishimaki, and UNICEF Country Representative, Dr. Samuel Ocran.

Japan constructed a block of four classrooms and a storeroom at Ndadi Primary School in the Ohakafiya circuit, Ohangwena Region.

The buildings, valued at N$1.3 million, were constructed through the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

Japan's Ambassador to Namibia, Hisao Nishimaki, has expressed his satisfaction with several projects funded by the Japanese government in the Ohangwena Region.

Ambassador Nishimaki toured three projects in the region to assess their progress and familiarise himself with their impact.
