Brazilian business delegation proposes projects to improve Namibian products

The visiting Brazilian business delegation has proposed projects that would add value to Namibian products.

The delegation led by Brazil's Ambassador Vivian San Martin met President Nangolo Mbumba at State House, marking the conclusion of its weeklong visit to Namibia.

One such project is the processing of yellow maize and the production of cooking oil and rice in Namibia.

Brazil is a major producer of yellow maize, and the delegation says processing the maize here in Namibia offers an opportunity for it to be exported to other SADC countries.

Five men arrested for possession of wildlife products

Five men were arrested in the Kavango East Region on Tuesday for possession and dealing in controlled wildlife products worth N$250,000.

According to the Acting Regional Commander of Kavango East, Deputy Commissioner Eino Nambahu, the arrests took place in two separate locations at Shighuru village, 60 kilometres east of Rundu.

In the first incident, three local men from that village were apprehended after a tip-off from community members.
