Oshikuku Town Council revamps sewer ponds

The Oshikuku Town Council was allocated N$5.7 million by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD) to expand their sewerage pond, fence it off, and put up an embankment to prevent the overflow of sewerage in the current financial year.

The tender for the project was awarded to Kambwa Trading.

Oshikango-Santa Clara Border Post opens 24/7

The Oshikango -Santa Clara Border Post will now operate 24/7 following the launch on Friday.

This follows an agreement between the Namibia and Angola governments.

The 24/7 operation will allow the movement of people of the two countries at any time.

Oshakati Hospital manages 133 hemodialysis cases

In April of this year, 133 new hemodialysis cases were managed at Oshakati Intermediate Hospital.

Hemodialysis is a treatment to filter waste and water from the blood.

Of the 133 cases, 35 patients have recovered, while 38 are being managed as outpatients. 

Northern regions ready for drought relief food distribution

The disaster risk management warehouse at Uukwangula, Oshana Region, which houses drought relief food for the Omusati, Kunene, Oshikoto, Ohangwena, and Oshana regions, is operational and ready to distribute food to the beneficiaries.

More funds needed for Helao Nafidi Private Hospital

More funds are still needed to build the envisaged Helao Nafidi Private Hospital at Onhuno in the Ohangwena Region.

The private hospital, launched in October 2022, is planned to be a fully registered proprietary limited company.
