Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has declared a mourning period in honour of Founding President Sam Nujoma, who passed away on Saturday evening.

President Nangolo Mbumba has arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, this evening.

President Mbumba will participate in the 22nd Doha Forum, starting tomorrow.

A number of world leaders and senior government ministers, as well as thought leaders, are attending the two-day meeting.

A Namibian delegation, comprising Nangula Geingos, the eldest daughter of the late President Hage Geingob, and Swapo Party Youth League Central Committee members, is in Venezuela to attend the World Conference on Anti-Fascism.

The World Congress will also honour the late President Geingob.

President Nangolo Mbumba acknowledged Namibia’s progress over 34 years of independence but stressed that more work remains to ensure every Namibian benefits from the country's growth.
