The National Council started its 17th and final session of the 6th term, bringing the 2020-2025 tenure to a close. 

Its Chairperson, Lukas Muha, has outlined the main agenda and priorities for the session.

Finance Minister Erica Shafudah has reallocated N$1.2 billion in her mid-term budget review, tabled in the National Assembly this afternoon.

The bulk of the reallocation will go towards the government's Subsidised Free Tertiary Education, during the first quarter of next year. 

The National Council MPs debated on the second reading featuring the Appropriation Amendment Bill.

The bill solely looks at revising and reallocating resources without changing the total amount of expenditure.

Members of Parliament have commended the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises' efforts to curb excessive spending and for recognising the economic strain experienced by all Namibians.

MPs were contributing to the Appropriation Amendment Bill.
