The leader of the National Democratic Party, Lukato Lukato, asked the Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security, to explain the criteria used in the promotion of uniformed personnel, citing issues of inequity.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security, Lucia Iipumbu, has urged senior officials within the police force to ensure fairness regarding promotions.

Iipumbu emphasised that decisions must be guided by members' commitment, years of service, and professional conduct.

More than one hundred police officers from the Zambezi Region were conferred promotions from constable, sergeant, and warrant officer to sergeant class one and two, warrant officer class one and two, and inspector to the nearest rank.
