Police at Grootfontein are investigating a case of rape and murder after the body of a 28-year-old woman was found at a dumping site in the Kaap n' Bou informal settlement on Saturday.

The incident formed part of the weekend crime report compiled by the Namibian Police.

At the start of last year, the town of Okahandja experienced a series of killings.

In March, five-year-old Ingrid Maasdorp went missing after being dropped off at school. Her body was found the following day under a bridge.

Police confirmed she had been raped and murdered.

A 38-year-old Motswana woman was raped and killed in Mukwe Constituency, Kavango East Region, last Saturday.

Mukwe residents turned out in large numbers on Tuesday morning to protest the brutal killing of Keolebogile Paulino.
