Namibia has lobbied support from The Bahamas for its candidate, Deputy Inspector-General Major Anna-Marie Nainda, in the race for the Interpol presidency.

The elections are scheduled to take place in November during the 93rd General Assembly in Marrakech, Morocco.

Deputy Inspector General of NamPol, Anna-Marie Nainda, has clarified that the two individuals arrested in the southern part of Namibia have not been linked to the January 18 NAMDIA robbery.

Nainda said that, at this point, the arrests are considered independent.

Nampol's Deputy Inspector General for Administration says it is important that Namibia understands the need for gender mainstreaming, as women and men have different experiences, needs, and priorities.

NamPol's Deputy Inspector General for Administration, Major General Anna-Marie Nainda, has been elected as a Delegate for Africa and a member of the InterPol Executive Committee.

She was elected at the 90th Interpol General Assembly in New Delhi, India.
