Shikati Boniface Shufu of the Mayeyi Traditional Authority has requested the government to proclaim the Sangwali area a village council to fast-track development.

Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has commended Shikati Boniface Shufu and the Mayeyi Traditional Authority for their commitment to preserving biodiversity.

Nandi-Ndaitwah addressed the Batshara Annual Cultural Festival that took place at Sangwali in the Zambezi Region over the weekend.

The Mayeyi Traditional Authority has given notice of the termination of the membership in a conservancy of a family residing in Lyanshulu Village.

This came after the family allegedly chose to fall under the jurisdiction of another traditional authority while still residing in the Mayeyi area.
