The Swapo Party Central Committee's first meeting for 2024 started in the capital this morning.

The party's Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who addressed the meeting, says the nation and Swapo Party are poorer without the visionary leadership of the late President Hage Geingob.

Geingob was the party's president at the time of his death.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said some possible challenges on how to move forward without Dr. Hage Geingob were identified.

Without elaborating on the challenges, Ndaitwah said she is confident that the tested leaders of the party will employ their political wisdom and willpower to overcome the identified challenges.

She called on Swapo members to remain more united and strong in the execution of their national responsibilities.

The Swapo Party Politburo has met three times since the 4th of February to discuss the way forward following the unprecedented situation in the party's history of losing a president.

The rank and file of the party members, its wings, and affiliates, she continued, are looking at the Central Committee to provide leadership during this election year.
