A retired agricultural extension officer and a farmer in Omaheke's Rietfontein area, Edward Kaseraera, has urged women and young people to take a lead in agriculture.

Kaseraera made this remark during a farmers engagement day held at Okandjoze in the Otjombinde Constituency.

Kaseraera says COVID-19 has left many households vulnerable in terms of survival.

A farmer at Okandjoze Lydia Ndjoze says women's full participation in agriculture will advance the sector.

An emerging farmer from Epukiro, Uakutura Kanguatjivi, called for regular engagements that involve youth.
