The Presidency has clarified that former agriculture minister Mac Albert Hengari was, in fact, fired by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

In a brief statement, the Presidency said the President had expected Hengari’s resignation by Wednesday last week.

Dr. Hengari was reported to have told the media that he resigned, and this was confirmed by the Presidency this morning.
