First Gentleman Epaphras Ndaitwah has called for greater focus on the challenges faced by boys.

Speaking at a Boys to Men engagement event in Gobabis, Ndaitwah highlighted his broader agenda aimed at bridging the support gap for boys, who he believes are often overlooked.

Drawing from his own experiences during Namibia's liberation struggle against colonialism and

apartheid, Ndaitwah recounted the challenges he faced in concentrating on education in such a turbulent environment. He emphasized the importance of perseverance and making wise choices, even in difficult circumstances.

He committed to engaging with boys throughout his tenure to ensure their needs are recognized and addressed.

While acknowledging the progress made in empowering girls, Ndaitwah underscored the necessity of balancing this by nurturing boys' potential as well.

One key focus area will be discipline, where he aims to encourage boys to make positive choices, maintain discipline, and strive for success despite their

challenges. He also raised concerns about the root causes of violent behavior among boys, attributing it to their upbringing and environment.

Ndaitwah echoed President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's recent announcement of free tertiary education starting in 2026, urging boys to seize this opportunity.

He stressed that education is crucial for a better future and that financial barriers should no longer hinder youth from pursuing their dreams.

Addressing common misconceptions, he cautioned parents against viewing the Namibian Defense Force as a last resort for their children. He pointed out that, like any profession, the NDF requires skilled and educated individuals.

The First Gentleman inspired the young attendees to become responsible, purpose-driven members of society.

He urged them to be intentional about the support they receive, prepare themselves to shape their own destinies, and strive to make a positive difference in today's rapidly evolving world.
