Angola’s Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira, has called for greater inclusion and investment in technology as the country moves towards a digital future.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of ANGOTIC 2025 in Luanda, Oliveira said the strong presence of youth and startups at the event showed that Angola was heading in the right direction. “This is a clear reflection of Angola’s strategic direction towards digitalization and economic modernization,” he said.

He urged continued investment in technological development, particularly with a focus on young innovators and emerging enterprises.

A touching moment during his speech was a tribute to the Oscar Rivas Institute, a school for visually impaired children and those with special needs. The Minister emphasized the importance of inclusion in the digital age. “With access to resources and technology, they too will feel like an integral part of Angola’s digital transformation,” he said.

Oliveira also thanked the sponsors, organizing teams, and international companies that took part in ANGOTIC 2025. He applauded their confidence in Angola’s potential and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a tech-driven future.

He closed his remarks by announcing the dates for the next edition of ANGOTIC — 11 to 13 June 2026 — and called for a round of applause to celebrate the success of this year’s event
