Otjozondjupa Governor John ||Khamuseb visited Tsumkwe Constituency for the first time since his appointment to familiarise himself with the community.

The Ju|hoansi Traditional Authority chief Tsamkgao ǂOma, in his opening remarks, appealed to the governor to visit the area more frequently.

The governor encouraged parents to understand that children's growth at home plays a pivotal role, and the young ones should therefore be encouraged to study and make use of the National Youth Council programmes.

He also discouraged the mentality of self-marginalisation and made use of opportunities.

||Khamuseb further called on the community to ensure that their children study and graduate in different fields.

He stated that an educated youth from the community will assist in transforming Tsumkwe Village into a town.

||Khamuseb further emphasised the importance of food self-sufficiency through growing one's own produce and exporting it to the nearest markets, such as Grootfontein, as well as for one's own use.

The community, on their part, expressed the wish for improved coordination between constituency leadership and the governor to ensure there is accountability.
