The Namibian delegation, led by Prime Minister Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare, met with Ishiba Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, today.
During the meeting, the two sides held discussions on matters of mutual concern and reaffirmed the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between Namibia and Japan.
The discussions explored opportunities for enhanced collaboration in a wide range of sectors, including mining, agriculture, health, desalination, road and infrastructure development, sports, creative industries, and tourism.
In this regard, the leaders expressed optimism that closer cooperation would contribute significantly to economic growth, skills transfer, job creation, and the deepening of people-to-people ties between the two nations.
The meeting took place on the margins of #TICAD9, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to strengthening Africa–Japan relations.
