Omatjete and Ebenhaezer Primary Schools were crowned champions at the Omaruru Build It U/13 Tournament on Saturday. Omatjete took the netball title, while Ebenhaezer clinched the football crown.
Omatjete, representing the Daures Constituency, defeated Otjimbingwe Primary School of Karibib Constituency 11-3 in the netball final. Meanwhile, Ebenhaezer Primary from Karibib beat Omatjete Primary 2-0 in the football final.
The competition, which drew participation from inland schools across Erongo, was praised by coaches as a platform for grassroots sport development. They emphasized discipline, teamwork, and dedication among the children.
Organizers described the tournament as the best rural schools competition, one that continues to grow annually. They called for its expansion to further support Namibia's broader sport development agenda.
Both the netball and football champions walked away with gold medals, trophies, and N$4,000 vouchers.
The tournament concluded on Saturday.
