Namibian swimmers made their mark at the XXI Africa Aquatics Zone IV Championships, which were hosted over five days in Eswatini.
The prestigious event took place in Manzini, Eswatini, from September 3-6, 2025, for pool events, with the Open Water Championship concluding the competition today.
The Namibia Aquatic Sports Federation (NASFED) is proud to announce that a team of 23 talented swimmers, aged between 11 and 23, represented Namibia at the championships.
The team was tasked with defending its championship-winning titles from the 2024 Zone IV Championships.
Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Comoros were among the participating countries. In total, more than 300 swimmers from 14 nations competed across more than 140 events, making this one of the largest Zone IV Championships to date after the one hosted by Namibia last year.
The Namibian team was led by Coach Adriaan Maritz, with Team Manager Tarryn MacNamara and Assistant Team Manager Zimone Stoffberg providing essential support.
It was a standout moment for Namibia at the championships as the country's swimmers broke numerous records:
