The family of late musician Jackson Kaujeua Junior is raising funds to repatriate his body from Norway for burial.
Kaujeua Jnr, a renowned musician and the son of liberation struggle icon Jackson Kaujeua, died in Norway on Sunday after an illness.
The late artist had followed in his father's footsteps, carving out a career in folk and traditional music while establishing his own unique style.
He was known for composing and performing songs that honoured his father's legacy but also carried his personal imprint.
Family members in both Namibia and Norway have begun fundraising efforts to meet the costs of repatriation and funeral arrangements.
Their goal is to return Kaujeua Jnr's remains to his home village for N$200,000, and a family representative, Phillip Munenguni, appeals to those impacted by Jackson Jnr's life to assist with contributions.
The burial is anticipated to take place on the 27th of this month, depending on the availability of funds.
