In the crucial NRU Gold Cup match between Unam and Wanderers, it was Wanderers who prevailed in a closely contested encounter, booking their spot alongside Grootfontein in the final.

In a must-win clash at the Unam main campus stadium in Windhoek, it was Unam who opened the scoring with a driving maul just five minutes into the match.

They then added another three points, extending their lead to 8-0.

However, Wanderers responded with a clean line break through Unam's defense.

Even though Unam added two more penalties to their tally, Wanderers took the lead at the break, 21-14, by scoring two converted tries.

In the second half, Unam leveled the score through scrum-half CJ Coetzee.

From there, both teams exchanged a penalty and a converted try each, keeping the scores tied until the 75th minute.

It was then that Wanderers' inside center, Danco Burger, slotted a penalty, scoring the decisive points of the match.

Wanderers claimed the 34-31 victory, ultimately booking their spot in the final against Grootfontein next weekend.
