The Namibian Theatre and Film Awards will return in 2026 after a six-year break.

The awards are scheduled to take place in March at the National Theatre of Namibia.

Organised by the National Theatre of Namibia, in partnership with the Namibia Film Commission, the awards celebrate and honour the creative excellence, resilience, and cultural impact of Namibian practitioners in the fields of theatre and film.  

Further serving as the only national platform that recognises individuals and productions that have significantly contributed to the growth of the country's creative arts industry. 

2026 NTFAs introduced a new range of categories in both the theatre and film. 

These include, for theatre, Best Score for Stage, Best Choreographer, Best Stage Technician/Engineer, Best Stagecraft, and Best Dancers, among others. Bringing the total to 20 categories. 

While the new additions for film are Best Newcomer Director, Best Supporting Actor (Male and Female), Best Costume Design and Make-up and Best Web Series.
