The Swapo Party has paid tribute to its late presidents, Hage Geingob and Sam Nujoma, as February marks the anniversaries of their deaths.
Party leader Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah reflected on their legacies during the opening of an induction workshop for Swapo Members of Parliament.
"It is equally important to honour and remember the leaders of our party who have passed on," she said. "Today, 4 February 2026, marks exactly two years since our third President of the Swapo Party and the Republic of Namibia, His Excellency Comrade Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob, passed away."
She continued: "Similarly, let us pay tribute to the life and legacy of our Founding President, the Father of the Namibian Nation and Leader of the Namibian Revolution, His Excellency Comrade Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, who left us 361 days ago."
Nandi-Ndaitwah then led attendees in a moment of silence for the two presidents and all departed party leaders.
