The 7th National Council today concluded its two-day special session to appoint the Rules, Order and Business Committee.

During the National Council's last special session on the election of committee members, Swapo's Erickson Ndawanifa was elected as the first Vice-Chairperson of the entire council.

He is deputised by Swapo's Inecia Brandt as the second Vice-Chairperson of the whole council.

They will oversee all their respective committees within the National Council.

Members were appointed to Standing Committees as well as to International Parliamentary Organisations.

The committees include the Standing Committee on Home Affairs, Security, Constitutional and Legal Affairs and the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources.

Also included are the Standing Committees on Education, Science, ITC and Youth Development and the Standing Committee on Public Accounts and Economy.
