Prominent lawyer Dirk Conradie has been convicted of corruption in a marathon litigation involving a N$60 million tender at the telecommunications giant, MTC.

New Era Newspaper reports that the matter centred on allegations of corruption and conspiracy to commit corruption levelled against Conradie and his co-accused, Sara Damases.

64-year-old Conradie and 59-year-old Damases faced 3 counts of contravening the Anti-Corruption Act for allegedly attempting to bribe Mark Bongers and his wife and business partner Kim Fields with a massive advertising contract from MTC, where Conradie was the board chairman.

The matter was postponed to 26 February 2026 for sentencing proceedings.
