The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Inge Zaamwani said the budget allocated to the ministry will be used to  boost food production and ensure fair distribution of land.

The ministry has been allocated about N$1,8 billion.

"This vote oversees the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at increased food production to achieve food security at household and national levels, as well as equitable land distribution," Zaamwani said.

Deputy Minister in the same ministry, Ruthy Masake said the funds will support sustainable management of natural resources and contribute to economic growth.

"Fishery and marine resources provide nutrition, employment, income, and vital foreign action enemies.The sustainable management of these resources is central to achieving the NDP 6 targets on economic growth, poverty reduction, and environmental sustainability, as well as delivering on sustainable development goals, commitments to universal access to safe water, and driving a blue economy," she noted.
