The Suiderhof Sports Field hosted a series of preseason rugby friendly matches as teams began preparations for the upcoming season.
Participating in the event were Suiderhof, Okahandja School, and Reho Rugby Academy, with the teams using the matches to build fitness, improve combinations, and give players game time ahead of the new season.
A total of five matches were played throughout the day, with players displaying their skills in a competitive atmosphere.
Organisers said the event was aimed at helping teams prepare while allowing young players to gain experience on the field.
Coach and organiser Wessel Witbooi spoke about the importance of the preseason fixtures.
"These matches are important because they help the players prepare before the season starts. It allows teams to test combinations, work on fitness, and identify areas that still need improvement. The main goal is development and making sure everyone is ready for the season ahead." He said.
"It's been a good experience playing against different teams. We are enjoying it, but at the same time we are learning and getting ready for the season. The matches help us build confidence and improve as a team." Anthony Bock said.
"The atmosphere has been good and everyone is excited to be back playing rugby. These games help us prepare physically and mentally for the competition ahead." Dalyn Witbooi said.
With the preseason programme now underway, the participating teams will continue their preparations ahead of the start of the new rugby season.
