The Bankers Association of Namibia (BAN) held a chairmanship handover ceremony yesterday in Windhoek.

In her acceptance speech, the incoming chairperson, Martha Murorua, highlighted the significance of the banking sector in driving Namibia's economic growth. She reiterated how banks support the government by providing job opportunities.

Murorua is the Managing Director of Nedbank Namibia, a position she has held since July 2020. She has over 26 years of experience in financial services.

The outgoing chairperson, Ester Kali, held the position from 2020 to 2021 and from 2025 to 2026.
