The Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group has officially launched its OL Legends Alumni Programme, an initiative aimed at recognising former employees who have helped shape the company's legacy and will continue to serve as ambassadors of its values and culture beyond their employment.
The programme was launched during an inaugural breakfast event in Windhoek on Friday, bringing together former employees from across the Group to reconnect, celebrate their contributions and help shape the future of the initiative.
In an interview with NBC News at the launch, OL Group Executive Chairman Sven Thieme said the company, which had been operating for more than a century, remains committed to its people-centred philosophy.
"We are celebrating all the former employees who have worked for us. They are invited to hear about what has happened in the group since their time, and we will take this opportunity to thank them for their contributions over the years. These individuals are true legends; they are the ones who ensured our presence today. It is easy to overlook the former employees who contributed for many years; since OL is now 106 years old, many individuals have given their best, made mistakes, and achieved success."
Thieme noted that O&L's success has been built by generations of dedicated employees, adding that they remain at the heart of the organisation's growth and long-term vision. A total of 18 legends have been recognised on the occasion.
