The Patron of Nakabolelwa Combined School in the Zambezi Region, Shakwa Nyambe, donated 82 tables and 76 chairs to the school worth over N$63,000.
Nyambe said the donation is aimed at improving the learning environment.
The school produced a 64% pass rate in the previous examination despite the negative effects of the floods.
"Resilience of the community: we just came from a flooding season, which was very terrible because a lot of learners from the neighbouring villages, Ihaha, Ivilivinzi and other villages here, had to move and come and live at the school because they could not easily access the school. But despite those challenges, we see a lot of resilience, commitment and hard work from the learners, from the teachers and from the people of Nakabolelwa," emphasises Nyambe.
Nyambe added that he was equally thankful to the Zambezi Vocational Training Centre, where the school furniture was produced and repaired.
Nakabolelwa Combined School principal, Ruth Mayumbelo, emphasised that the donation addressed the primary goal of education.
"We are here today to celebrate a month, the successful culmination of a month of hard work, collaboration and shared vision. This initiative represents our commitment to the key area number 1 of education. Which says provision of resources in schools."
Ngoma Circuit Inspector Nsala Chunga also appreciated the gesture.
"We see a future in grade 4; we see a great future in grade 5. That's why we say what Mr Nyambe has just done now – he has invested in you. So we really have to appreciate it."
Head Girl of Nakabolelwa CS, Inonge Baeze, adds, "This donation will help us as learners have a better and more comfortable place to learn. Mr Nyambe, we are very grateful for your kindness and support; your gift shows that you care about our education and the future of Namibian children."
