The Namibian Special Olympics hosted a send-off for the female Unified soccer team at the Sports Commission in Windhoek.

With this being the third edition of the World Cup and the first time being held outside of the USA 3rd edition brings together 24 teams 12 men's and 12 women's, made up of intellectual and Developmental disabilities, alongside Unified partners with IDD

Unified Sports is Special Olympics' most powerful program for inclusion.

The Director of Special Olympics said they are there to honour 11 . To the Unifed World Cup in Paris

They will play in the B group, with Special Olympics having 190 countries in the world that take part.

With their mission being Equity and Dignity

Christophina HANGALO, Acting Chief of the Namibia Sports Commission, highlighted the importance of carrying the National flag with pride.

The team's captain gave thanks for the opportunity extended to them.

With their work in 10 Regions for over 3000 athletes with limited school and after-school programs and no pathways. A major boost in funds is needed of 650,000, and as it stands, they have not received any government funding yet.

And having worked tirelessly to gain the funding of 830000 needed for the World Cup. Despite this, funding is still a priority, with a call to individuals and corporate companies.
